Camp Jockey Hollow, a summer day camp located in Mendham, New Jersey, has 212 beautiful acres of land with pristine hiking trails, a large swimming pool, low ropes challenge course, zip lines, an equestrian center, archery range and more.
Program Director
Responsibilities:
Report to and assist the Assistant Camp Director in managing the summer day camp Attend pre-camp training Organize, schedule, and develop programs for special program units and all other camp activities Supervise and evaluate specialists Act as liaison between Camp and Program Directors and staff Work cooperatively with GSNNJ administrative staff and rangers to ensure the highest level of safety, health, and activities are provided to campers and staff Work with Unit Leaders and Assistant Unit Leaders regarding schedules, bus changes, and program ideas and needs Assist individual units create and review their weekly schedules Work alongside Camp Director to plan and implement general unit programs, theme activities, and theme days Willingness and ability to demonstrate outstanding management skills Maintain master schedules of activities and sites in use Develop list of needed supplies for Business Manager and Rangers Develop rainy day schedules with Unit Leaders and Directors Efficiently respond to council, camper, parent, and staff concerns and inquiries when occupying office area Promote high camper and staff morale Perform other duties as assigned Program Director
Qualifications:
Must be 18
years of age College degree or equivalent work experience Must be attentive and timely Regularly speak, read, write, interpret, and respond to words in the English language Must be able to remain organized and communicate well with other staff and community partners Membership in GSUSA is required for the duration of contracted employment period Must have proven leadership, training, and supervisory experience Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Must have knowledge of and be passionate about the Girl Scout Program, child development, and offering creative educational opportunities in an outdoor setting Experience in leadership and supervision strongly preferred First Aid and CPR certified or willingness to obtain prior to camp beginning Note This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee(s) incumbent in this position.
